🎮 HOW TO PLAY VERBATILE

OBJECTIVE:
Use all 25 letters from the pool to create five 5-letter words.

HOW TO PLAY:

• Drag letters from the pool to the word grid
• Each row must contain one 5-letter word
• Use ALL letters — don't leave any behind!
• Stumped? Press 'Show Solution' to see one possible set of words.
  Note: If you think a word is invalid after it is displayed — click and hold on that word to report it.

TODAY'S PUZZLE vs NEW GAME:

• 📅 Today's Puzzle — everyone plays the same puzzle each day. Registered players can submit their score to the leaderboard.
• 🎲 New Game — a fresh random puzzle, always off the record. Play as many as you like!
• Once you complete Today's Puzzle the button changes to New Game.

LEADERBOARD & SCORING:

• Register (👤) to appear on the leaderboard — display name and email only, no password needed
• Solve Today's Puzzle and you'll be prompted to submit your score
• Scores are based on: solving (100pts) + bonus words (×2) + difficulty bonus − hints used (×15)
• Difficulty bonus: Easy +5, Medium +10, Hard +15, Challenge +20
• 🔥 Build a streak by solving Today's Puzzle on consecutive days
• Prefer to stay off the leaderboard? Opt out in Settings — you can still play everything

CONTROLS:

• 📱 Touch: Tap and drag letters
• 🖱️ Mouse: Click and drag letters
• ↩️ Return: Drag a letter back to the pool

COLOR CODING:

• 🟢 GREEN — Word matches the solution
• 🟡 YELLOW — Valid dictionary word (not in solution)
• ⚪ WHITE — Not a valid word yet

DIFFICULTY LEVELS:

• Challenge — No hints, full letter pool
• Hard — 1 letter pre-placed and locked
• Medium — 2 letters pre-placed and locked
• Easy — 3 letters pre-placed and locked
• Note: locked letters limit your bonus word options

TIPS:

• Valid words still count — you don't need to match the solution to win
• Experiment! You can always move letters around
• Custom puzzles must match the solution — valid non-solution words won't turn yellow
• Visit Settings (⚙) to set difficulty, manage your account, or opt out of the leaderboard
